So, I recently got an email from a guy, and his concern was legit. It says,

“Hey, Iain. I have been trying the online dating game for a while, with no success. The furthest I have progressed is one date, and that was it. I feel exhausted with the endless messaging and searching, and I’m not scoring. Is it normal to feel burnt out from online dating? Please, help!”

Thank you for sharing your story. Online dating can be a vicious cycle of disappointment and heartbreaks. The worst part is sometimes you get heartbroken by a scammer. It’s normal for guys to experience burn out in online dating after searching for a while without success. Dating burnout can be detrimental to your dating life because it can make you desperate or make you give up on the process. However, if you can handle the burnout when it starts, you can save yourself from the emotional rollercoaster that it brings. Let’s look at how to prevent burnout from online dating to help you keep your game in check.

Take regular breaks.

It’s easy to find yourself in a negative routine in online dating if you are not careful. You’ll keep swiping and starting conversations that never materialize. You’ll become frustrated and disappointed if you put too much effort, and there’s nothing to show for it. Taking occasional breaks from online dating can help you prevent online dating burnout. Some time off is also important because it gives you the chance to take a step back and reevaluate the whole thing. You’ll understand where you are making a mistake and correct it the next time you start your online adventure.
